Tate is Chief Executive Officer of “NorthCare”.  NorthCare is a “Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic” described in The Mental Health Excellence Act of 2014.  NorthCare was one of the first agencies in the country to obtain this distinction when The State of Oklahoma and Oregon implemented the CCBHC Pilot in April of 2017.  NorthCare provides services utilizing a number of  evidence based practices for the treatment of mental illness, substance use disorders, co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorders, integrated care, trauma, and to families at risk of or involved in the state child welfare system. NorthCare also conceptualized and operates “The Pete White Health and Wellness Center”, a MAPS III Project in conjunction with The City of Oklahoma City.  The organization provides services in 45 counties of Oklahoma.     Tate has over 36 years’ experience working in the behavioral health field as a clinician, program developer, advocate and administrator.  Tate also founded and serves as a Director on the Board for NorthRock Pharmacy LLC.

Tate has been elected and is serving his second term as the Region VI Representative on The Board of Directors for “The National Council for Behavioral Health Inc.”, in Washington DC where he represents behavioral health corporations from five states (AR, OK, TX, NM, and LA).   Tate concurrently has served on the Search Committee for the CEO, and serves as Chair of the Membership Committee.

Tate is the current Vice-President of the Board of Directors for “The Oklahoma Behavioral Health Association”, a trade association for behavioral health safety net providers operating across the state of Oklahoma.  Tate served as President from July 2015 to June 2018.

Tate served on “The Board of Visitors” for The School of Social Work at the University of Oklahoma, for over a decade.  From 2008 to Present.  He served as Vice-President and President of the BOV.   He volunteers on the scholarship and development committees.

Tate serves on the Board of Directors for “Count Me in for Kids” and serves as the Chair for the Medical and Mental Health Committee.   July 2015 to Present.

Tate serves on the Board of Directors of “Freedom Oklahoma” and previously served on its predecessor “Cimarron Alliance Foundation”.  He served two terms as Vice-Chair for “Cimarron Alliance Foundation”.  These organizations provide education and advocacy for the LGBTQ+ communities.

Tate previously served two terms on the Board of Directors for “The Daily Living Centers, Inc.”, an adult day health corporation serving aging individuals and those with memory and cognitive disorders.

Tate is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a BA in Psychology and Master’s Degree in Social Work.
