Oklahoma County Systems of Care originated from a coalition of Oklahoma state agencies helped to produce a Systems of Care Project designed to "unite educational, health, and social service organizations in individual communities". Two years ago the project was designed with pilots in Canadian, Beckham, and Oklahoma counties and has succeeded in providing services to children and families with mental health needs.
Systems of Care is comprised of family-focused treatment teams featuring parent advocates and care coordinators. The treatment teams concentrate on providing the appropriate services for each individual child's needs.
